For years I prayed God would give me the opportunity to use my profession to help other people. My degree is in administration. One day a friend called and asked if I could help support New Image with some administrative matters. That phone call opened a door to a completely new world for me. One year later I was asked to stay at the foundation in the Director position. Now, ten years later I have returned to school to obtain a second degree in psychology. Psychology has always been an interest of mine and after having been at New Image I see its value even more so among the women we serve. I enjoy listening to people and their stories, watching them heal and grow! I am very grateful to have the opportunity to bring the message of the hope of Jesus to women in prostitution. Each woman represents not just themselves but the generations after them to come. In my free time I enjoy coffee shops, napping and worship music in English, especially Hillsong.
Born and raised right here in Managua, I graduated from The American University of Psychology in 2012. Since I was young I had an interest in women in prostitution and in 2011 I had the opportunity to get to know New Image through a friend. After working for 15 months with an NGO dealing with women who suffered domestic and labor violence, I returned to New Image in 2013 as a volunteer. My prayer has been to work at a Christian foundation to help women with their inner and spiritual health which is now being realized at New Image. I am a helpful person. I love all kinds of music, cooking, watching movies and spending quality time with my friends.
I come from a dysfunctional family and am a testimony to the work of New Image as I myself came through their program. In 1999 I was first approached by Helen Goatley while working on the streets. While sponsored by New Image I studied beauty and basic computer science. My previous education was completion of the sixth grade of primary school. Since 2010 I have been working at New Image and it is my passion to take the message of the gospel to women, so that their lives may be restored by the grace of Jesus, as was mine. Once their lives are restored they can give their children as better life as well. I like to share my experience of healing with women as well as encourage, pray, guide and advise them.
I am from Germany. It was in Brazil working with street children that I first decided to study social pedagogy. Since then much of my work experience has been among refugees and high-risk adolescents at both an NGO and working for the German State. In 2018 I arrived in Nicaragua to work at New Image under the sponsorship of Christliche Fachkräfte International. I like being able to both bring the hope of Jesus and offer professional help to women in prostitution. I love giving encouragement, motivating and learning from the perspectives of others.
